In lights of recent events I want to point out some things.

Supernatural has one of the biggest fanbases in the world.

And Supernatural family is great. We as fandom helped to change big things, we as fandom got to accomplish so much.

And what brought us to this fandom, what brought us to unite and change the world with the help of this small show are these three guys that act on it; Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins.

They’re awesome, selfless, respectful, sweet, kind and giving, and over the years the way they interact with us fans have changed from celebrity/fan to almost family.

I know, we -at least most of us- don’t know them for real, meeting a public persona is never the same than meeting the person, but for many of us it’s been almost 14 years, some others more,  and the things about them that have never changed are their love for their families, their respect for others and the fact that they -following Misha’s example- want to make the world a bit better each day by reaching out to us fans.

So when one of them say something as any other person would have, we don’t take it bad, like you wouldn’t be offended by an uncle or a cousin overexcited words.

So when one of them makes a joke that was wrongly turned into a “rape joke” it does not only affect him or them, since the other J just had to be there too.

Most of us fans are not fandom blind, it was harmless and were an answer fans prodded and prodded for, even after Jared said his jokes are always inappropriate.

Let’s be honest, most of us wouldn’t be offended, not even being survivors, but we cannot know what triggers someone, and it was out of place yeah.

We’re not giving them a turned head, not letting it pass, just taking it for what it was, a joke,  it was Inappropriate? YES it was! Did they meant to? I personally think they would never, NO, not after stories of being groped and objectified and they being against that, not after Jensen’s tweet under the #MeToo tag., not after years and years of stories from fans suffering PTSD, depression and all kind of problems as a result of sexual assaults.

No, because they’re not like that.

They already gave an statement and in my opinion they should apologize to put an end to this;  But then… why is this time, this joke blown out of proportion?

Because recently media found out that putting them on the headline/front page sells (isn’t right magazine that almost sold out before halloween?, or last year issue that had them there in the best selled issue in God-knows-how-long?) same with Talk shows and stuff like that, they’re putting them down because we FANS will read, we will click on their stupid links, we will give them coverage.

SO, I as a fan request you all my SPN family, ya’ll there where we have a million of survivors from sexual violence, and harassment victims, where we know what bullying do, I call you all to blacklist the pages that are spreading hate.

Once they got us together and together we created an entire support system for those of us who needed help, now is our time to give it back to them.

I do Support both Jensen and Jared and I’m sure they didn’t mean it like that.

The list is gigantic so far, but if we stop clicking on them, if we so much as ignore them and do not tag or comment on them, we’ll let it go away faster and sooner.

OUR fandom achieved big things but from now on they’ll be only remembered for this, don’t let the years and years of amazing job and tons of love and hope to go to waste. Let’s prove there’s more in Supernatural than a small joke.
