I'm back word has arrived about the fact that other sister is safe and a little bit dramtic but fine.
small story here , feel free to skip if you're tired of my nonsense
"hey, enough"
She turned to the sound of a low voice by the door, tall, serious and concerned.
"get out of there."
Yeah, she had to, she was still on the bathtub.
"get up honey, you're getting out of there."
"He did it again..."
She whimpered making him let out a sigh.
"I heard that, let's move, K, you'll get sick."
He held a towel for her, that made her notice she was naked. "you okay?"
She shook her head no trying stupidly to cover herself without a reason.
"Josh.. I made a mistake, didn't I?" She moved out of the water.
"you were in love, that's never a mistake."
"I've hurt you." he smiled, the features, already strong and masculine were more mature now, giving him an air of control and poise. "I... H-how you do it?" She asked holding his hand to step out of the tub "you were so mature, mature enough not to call me out on my shittiness."
"It was the right thing at the time..." and changing subjects "I liked the story, Drew and Josh and Kerry and.. you know."
"you think this is like that story?"
"exactly." Josh kissed her nose "get into your PJ's I got you food, and then we're going to bed." She snorted.
"so soon! Joshua!" both laughed, but the laughter died down fast "he wasn't the only one..."
"heard that too." He smiled. "But I wasn't sitting on my window waiting for you and keeping my virtue.I wasn't a saint."
"Yeah like when you kissed Rainna?"
"Rainna?"Josh laughed "that was years ago!"
"Still. I was jealous..."
"Let's not rush this, okay?" he started "for a start I only want you safe and okay, so change. I'll be right outside."
"he's getting married" she let out the second he reached for the bathroom door, Josh didn't even turned.
"So what? He's not of your concern anymore."
"...actually..." and then he turned, shaking his head from side to side.
"NO!! I'm here now, and I'm not letting him humiliate you anymore" She looked him in the eye and nodded. "did he called?"
She shook her head no.
"not yet"
"Yet?" the girl shrugged, josh got close once more "I let it happen once, but not anymore."
"Play me once is your fault, play me twice..." she let out and smiled. "I got it." she looked at him, to the same spot where the mole was, she used to love that spot so much. "She's here..."
"WHAT?" she moved her hand to caress his strong fingers.
"She's here." Kay pointed to the building outside her window. "She's working right there."
"And you know ABOUT IT?" She smiled sadly.
"She called..."
"To YOU?!" he let out a shout, he was freaking out.
"Yeah.. asking for him". her voice sounded distracted.
"THAT BITCH!" he spat out "where is your cellphone?" and he stalked out while she started drying up up and change.
"At work? they know they have to call me to the land line."
"So, you're not going anywhere else?" she came out of the bathroom in a huge white t-shirt,and grey cotton panties.
"Not right now, that's obvious" she said while brushing her hair. "you offered food, where is it?" She said jokingly and Josh smiled, his pretty green-ish eyes on her.
"Yeah, I did... " and they walked to the kitchen, they ate sharing stories of their lives, what have happened in the time they were apart, what they've done and where they've been.
"I'm so happy to see you." she said feeling better. "I wasn't sure if you'd ever want to heard from me again."
"Of course!" both kept quiet for a moment thinking on the one time they parted ways.
"Did I ever told you I'm sorry?" she blurted out "I wasn't thinking..."
"It's okay" Josh cut her "I was a dick to you too." he checked his watch.
"Do you have to go?" she said once more sad.
"No" assured Josh "I don't have to go anywhere."
"Stay with me please..." she begged biting her bottom lip.
"I thought we said we'll take this slowly" Josh teased.
"I don't"she started fast "I didn't mean.. I just don't want to sleep alone, not right now."
a moment of heavy silence landed on them, she revealed her very soul, the vulnerable broken girl exposed.
***
Josh sighed feeling her draped on him, hair smelling like sweet and flowers, soft skin, he was dosing off until he felt her moving, shivering and whimpering, and he understood how deeply that guy hurt her, she was sobbing, quietly muffling her sobs against her hand. he let her cry, allowed her privacy until slumber finally took her.
Kali felt better when she finally could cry over it. better the second the musky perfum of Josh, leather and something else, surrounded her in his embrace, making her 5" 4'look tiny.
Life will be there tomorrow, but right now, nothing could hurt her shielded by those arms and the humming voice singing Mr.Big's To be with you.
The last thing she felt before finally sleeping was a kiss on her hair.

The next day Josh went straight to her place after work, and was waiting for her. she came in a couple minutes later, dark circles under her eyes, pale faced and serious.
"hey there."
he said smiling Kali sighed and got close, tossing her bag to the floor mumbling something of the sort of tired.
"are you hungry? do you want something?" she mumbled while she landed on the couch next to him her head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around her.
"I'll get whatever you need sweetie don't worry." he said.
"I want soup" he knew what that meant but couldn't see her face, only the tip of her nose and her long long lashes.
"Soup, huh?" he tried to move but heard a groan and hands clawing his shirt to keep him there.
"it doesn't have to be right now..." he chuckled and held her for a couple more minutes "shift was hell... is it full moon or something?" and yawned.
"Wow..." Josh caressed her shoulder "how far from my girl, the one from back then." you were carefree and... "
"Lost!" she said "I was lost" and huffed "things have changed Josh, I'm a doctor now, I save lives" she yawned again "And I'm glad to have you here." she tried to move.
"you weren't lost" he insisted "you were just different, from now, and I like this version of you"
they kept quiet and when he noticed she was asleep, he noticed the grey beeper on her hand, her cellphone missing for days now, he felt content just having her there. knowing his friend now, his former lover was so much better than when he saw her on that tub.
somewhere a phone was buzzing, she didn't move, it could be hospital, he thought, so took the gadget from under a cushion to read the screen name, it was HIM, her ex.
without thinking he answered angry and not thinking "Stop calling!! I just got this number and I don't know who the fuck that doctor is!" he let out in the worst fake jersey accent, he pressed the button and erased the logs before she stirred.
"what...?" she mumbled rubbing her eyes. he shushed her.
"go change I'll have your sup ready and you'll sleep after that okay?"she smiled adorably and mumbled an sleepy okay.
the phone buzzed again, this time her tone, shrilled and Josh had to press some buttons to stop it. same caller, this time he had the guts to leave a message begging to talk to her, begging for things to go back to before, saying that they didn't have to be apart.asking to see her.
Josh deleted the message and marched to the kitchen to make peas and ham soup with crackers for her.
"I swear I heard my phone somewhere." and yawned entering the kitchen to find the soup, her eyes filled with tears.
"eat up, while it's warm" he said sitting and taking a spoon "then we'll get a nap."
By 11 pm she was asleep and her phone was once more silent, Josh had prevented her ex to contact her, and he'll keep doing it, he held her close, protectively, possessively, and sighed, she'll be his again.
Soon.
