too bad I'm in the first half...
last night on-call was SHIT!!!
spent the whole fucking night in OR and I meant it, it started quite nicely around 3:00 with Dr Knight the darling surgeon lady who's a bitch with everyone but me, after two with her, and a very annoying resident complaining that he wasn't on call but had to stay *he finally were asked to leave when he made a very stupid mistake*
I changed to Ortho, and did a collarbone with Dr Herb, then we had an Orchidopexia with Mr. Chapulin himself, Dr Salazar, then a c-section, then we had an apendectomy, so it was ok, we ended up aroud 1 in the morning but was ok, then arrived this guy with a almost amputated thumb, the poor guy is 18 y.o. and was in shock thinking he'll loose his thumb, I cleaned it up and sent him to ortho, Dr herb was there, while we were waiting the kid told me that his mum sent him to his grandparents as soon as he could go to the bathroom and never ever cared about him, he've worked since he was ten, its terrible, needed his tendons recontructed and Kishners it was complicated and with God's help he'll be ok.
when we left the OR it was around 5 am and I had to do rounds before resting for what seemed a sec before start runing again at six with a patient with a fever, then a lady wth abad concussion after her biker were hit by a cab, and she was with her baby girl...
